Chili Paneer (Indo-Chinese cuisine
1 lbs paneer, cut into cubes
1 green bell pepper, chopped
1 small white onion, chopped
4-5 small green chilis, chopped
2-3 cloves of garlic, minced
3 tsp dark soy sauce
3 tsp tomato sauce
1 tsp vineger
1 tsp corn starch
1/2 tsp chili sauce (optional)
1 cup water
oil for frying
green onion for garnish
Fry paneer cubes in oil until golden brown (be careful they pop!) and store in a bowl of cold water. Fry the onions in a pan till glassy, add green chilis, garlic and bell pepper. In a small bowl, mix soy sauce, tomato sauce, vineger, corn starch, chili sauce and water until corn starch has dissolved. Add to the pay and mix until color turns. If sauce is not thick enough, add more water-corn starch mixture. Serve with chopped green onion for garnish and with white rice.
